Umbraco MVPs

So, you want to be an Umbraco MVP for 2025?

The time for finding our MVPs of 2025 is here!

As part of the new submissions and applications process, all would-be MVPs (new and renewed) must now let us know what activity they have been doing in the past 12 months, which earns them the title of MVP. (March 29th 2024 to March 31st 2025 between MVP application deadlines).

This translates into being friendly in the forum, making incredible and highly useful packages, submitting pull-requests, starting a new initiative that helps the existing community members as well as newcomers, and much more.

See a full list of example activities that could earn you MVP status.

I want to nominate someone

You'd like to nominate someone to be an Umbraco MVP? Great! Let us know who that person is here and we'll reach out to them and ask them to tell us more. Deadline for MVP Nominations is Monday March 3rd 2025, this will allow us time to contact nominees and ask them to complete their activities and application, if they haven't already, prior to the final application deadline of Monday March 31st 2025.

Renewed MVPs

The MVP award is valid for only one year, but we want to recognise those who continue to be active and contribute to Umbraco and the friendly community.

Therefore, community members can nominate current MVPs for the renewal of their title, or for current MVPs to apply for a renewal (which we highly encourage).

Just like with new MVPs, MVP renewal is based on the activity of the applicant/nominee during the 12 months leading up to Codegarden with the same selection criteria. (March 29th 2024 to March 31st 2025 between MVP application deadlines)

MVPs looking to renew who have had extended leave from community activities due to maternity and paternity leave or serious and/or prolonged illness, will still be eligible for renewal.

Benefits of having your MVP status renewed

We do it slightly differently from the new MVPs, but the love and recognition are still there:

  • Although renewed MVPs don’t get to step on stage during the opening keynote, we still shout out about them in the MVP blog post.

  • The MVP badges on Our are updated to show the number of times they were awarded the MVP status.

  • We also share a digital badge the MVPs can use in their email signatures or websites.

  • A free training course of your choice.

  • Continued access to their free cloud project for personal or community-related projects.

  • Continued access to the dedicated MVP Slack Channel providing a space for MVP to chat, share ideas and discuss Umbraco, along with members of the HQ teams.

  • Access to HQ working facilities - Umbraco HQ can open its doors for the MVPs to use its facilities to work and connect with the teams.

  • Support of advocacy initiatives - Assistance with travel expenses to do a talk or workshop covering Umbraco at a conference or meetup. Approval subject to the topic covered, location and size of the event, and available budget.
